Program to promote medication education

Rural Health Projects is sponsoring a program on medications this week at Enid Senior Life Network.

“Using Medication Safely: A Key Ingredient to Your Health” will be presented at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Senior Life Network in Oakwood Mall. It is open to the public.

RHP officials urge seniors and caregivers to attend.

The program is intended to empower older people to become more active participants in the decision-making process regarding their medications.

The goal is to educate older people and reduce their risk of side-effects from medication and achieve better outcomes of the medications they use.

The program will offer tips for using medications safely and questions people should ask their doctors and pharmacists.

Presenter will be pharmacist Mark Stratton, BCPS, CGP and FASHP.  He has spent more than 20 years of his career dedicated to improving lives of older people through the promotion of rational drug therapy.

Anyone with questions can call Senior Life Network at 234-6060.
