Champlin Park playground re-opening is slated Tuesday

ENID, Okla. — The re-opening ceremony for the playground at Champlin Park will be 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The playground has been closed for several months as crews have worked to completely renovate it. The project was the culmination of a joint effort between the city and 125 private donors who donated more than $140,000 toward renovations. Lead donors for the project include Joan and Paul Allen, Harold Hamm, Joanna Champlin, the H.H. Champlin Foundation, the family of Robert L. Cummins and Enid Park Board.

The city and Enid Park Project made the announcement of the re-opening ceremony.

“I am so excited for the children of Enid to get to play on a wonderful new playground,” said Enid Park Project coordinator Hallie Caldwell. “Thank you to the city of Enid and all of the donors and organizations that made this project possible. I am continually amazed at the willingness of the people of Enid to give, not only to this endeavor, but also to the many other needs of our community. This generous spirit is what makes our town great.”

Champlin Park is located at the corner of Van Buren and Garriott.
