Woman injured in crash with cattle truck

ENID, Okla. — A collision Wednesday afternoon at Van Buren and Poplar narrowed northbound traffic to a single lane when a 68-year-old woman pulled in front of a cattle truck.

Rose Baker was taken from the scene of the 2:14 p.m. collision by Life EMS to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, according to an Enid Police Department report. Baker suffered a possible neck injury in the collision.

Richard Steedley, 39, was northbound in the outside lane of Van Buren in a 2014 Peterbilt 380 pulling a stock trailer loaded with cattle, when Baker attempted to cross Van Buren westbound from Poplar in her 2013 Chrysler 300C.

A witness at the scene said the light for northbound traffic was green when Baker attempted to cross Van Buren. Steedley was not injured and his vehicle suffered minor damage. Baker’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
