Church van, pickup collide

ENID, Okla. — An Enid man suffered minor injuries Tuesday afternoon in a collision with a Zoe Bible Church van.

Edwin Dresher, 37, was taken from the scene of the 3:01 p.m. collision at Oklahoma and Cleveland by Life EMS, according to an Enid Police Department collision report. Dresher was taken to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Dresher was turning north onto Cleveland from Oklahoma in a 1993 Dodge Ram as a trash truck was turning west onto Oklahoma from Cleveland, according to the report. Dresher said he could not see around the trash truck, and when he pulled out onto Cleveland, he was struck by a 1999 Ford E-350 van that was southbound on Cleveland.

The driver of the van, Sharmon Thiessen, 42, and her passenger, 5-year-old Madison Goolsbey, were not injured.

The collision shut traffic down to two lanes, with northbound traffic on Cleveland being diverted from the wreck.

Dresher was cited for failure to yield right of way.
