Billings chamber to host Citizen of the Year dinner

— Billings Community Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Citizen of the Year dinner at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Billings Community Building.

The banquet theme this year is “Volunteers Are the Heart of Billings!”

Chamber members nominated for the award are Aimie Learned, Frances Moss, Candy Oller and Barbara Pemberton. Willing Workers Church Group, led by Bertha Hostetler, has been selected as the volunteer group to be recognized at this year’s dinner.

The Bill Rotter Big Band, based in Perry, will provide music for the dinner. Rotter leads the band, made up of area professional musicians and former band directors. They have provided big band entertainment at area events for many years. Rotter has more than 44 years of experience as a high school band director and principal. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame in 1992.

New chamber officers will be introduced during the program. They are president, Lewain Learned; vice president, Dean Tipps; secretary, Jane Ann Inge; treasurer, Gerri Cochrane Lemings; reporter, Candy Oller; and photographer, Karl Stephens.  

Area residents are invited to bring a covered food dish to the event.
