Fireworks lead events at Kingfisher ‘America Fest’

ENID, Okla. — “America Fest,” Kingfisher’s Independence Day celebration will include a full day of activities, culminating with fireworks at in Kingfisher Park.

A downtown parade is set for 10 a.m., with grand marshals being members of Northwest Oklahoma DAV Chapter 66.

Other activities at the park include:

• Pony rides, face painting, water ball and bubble balls, beginning at 11 a.m.

• Fire truck rides, beginning at 11 a.m.

• Train rides, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Swimming, noon to 4 p.m.

• Petting zoo.

• Giant inflatable water slide, noon to 4 p.m.

• Sack races, balloon toss, turtle races, egg toss, beginning at 4 p.m.

• Money dig, 5:30 p.m.

• Tour de Fourth bike races, 6 p.m.

• Duck races at the aquatic center, 6 p.m.

• Free concert featuring Riders Ford, 7:30 p.m.

The fireworks display will be set to music and will begin at dark.

Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce and the city of Kingfisher have arranged with Extreme Pyrotechnics for the show.

A Little Miss and Mr. Firecracker pageant for children ages 2 to 5 is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hall.
