Woodward man is injured when semi rolls near Arnett

ENID, Okla. — A 44-year-old Woodward man was injured early Wednesday morning when the semi he was driving rolled southeast of Arnett.

Timothy Lane Taylor was taken to Newman Memorial Hospital in  Shattuck following the 1:05 a.m. crash, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He then was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted with head and internal injuries in stable condition, according to OHP.

According to an OHP report, Taylor was southbound on a private road seven miles south and three miles east of Arnett in a 2011 Mack when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the roadway to the left.

Taylor attempted to return to the road and overcorrected, causing his load to shift, according to the report. The truck rolled onto its passenger side.

Taylor was hauling salt water, according to the report. The cause of the collision is listed as “unsafe speed on curve or turn” and Taylor’s condition was listed as “apparently normal.”

Taylor was not wearing his seat belt, according to the report.
