Reading and discussion program free to public

ENID, Okla. — Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma! is a reading and discussion program offering a humanities scholar to broaden discussions.

Programs are offered free to the public.

Enid Public Library will host  “Crime and Comedy: The Lighter Side of Murder and Misdemeanor.”

• Aug. 19, “The Code of the Woosters” will be presented by Hugh Foley.

• Sept. 9, “The Burglar Who Traded Ted Williams” will be presented by Jerry Nye.

• Sept. 30, “Native Tongue” will be presented by Harbour Winn.

All programs will be at 6 p.m.

Alva Public Library will host “Making Sense of the American Civil War.”

• Sept.15, “Imagining War” will be presented by Joanne Prewitt.

• Sept. 29, “Choosing Sides” will be presented by Joyce J. Bender.

Both programs will be at 7 p.m.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Woodward will present “Muslim Journeys” at 7 p.m. Sept. 18.

“Prince Among Slaves” will be presented by Aaron Mason.

Funding for the programs is provided by Inasmuch Foundation, the Kirkpatrick Family Fund and the McCasland Foundation.
