Nonprofits encouraged to apply for CSCF grant

ENID, Okla. — Local nonprofits should apply now for the chance to receive a grant from Cherokee Strip Community Foundation.

Last year, the foundation distributed more than $48,000 to 14 grant recipients, according to a press release.

Mary Stallings, executive director for the foundation, said the grants go to projects from nonprofits with specific guidelines.

“The proposals have a better chance if they’re collaborative, creative, or they meet needs that wouldn’t be met otherwise,” Stallings said.

To start the process, nonprofits must submit a letter of intent by July 31. The letter should detail the project and what the grant money will be used for. This must be submitted before the grant proposal, which will be due Sept. 1.

Last year’s grant recipients included Oklahoma Dental Foundation, which used a $10,000 grant to provide a two-day free clinic for people who cannot afford dental care, Stallings said.

For information about the grant process, go to the foundation’s website or www.cherokeestripcf.com or call the office at (580) 234-3988.
