ENID, Okla. —
A section of south 10th will be closed to allow workers to repair a sewer line that washed into Boggy Creek during recent flooding.
According to a release by the city of Enid, the road will be closed from the bridge just south of the Animal Shelter for about 400 feet, terminating near the "old landfill."
The length of closure will be indefinite, the release states. Access to Southgate Road can be made via Leona Mitchell or 16th.
Heavy rains flooded areas in and around Enid last month, including Boggy Creek, which winds through the southern part of town. A 36-in. wastewater pipe that ran alongside the creek bed collapsed as the dirt around it eroded.
Officials will be relocating a portion of the pipe to avoid further damage, officials said in an earlier statement.
