Enid woman dies in crash

ENID — An early morning collision Tuesday at Grand and Garriott took the life of a 65-year-old Enid woman and remains under investigation.

Glenda B. Gafford died following the 7:40 a.m. collision. She was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.

According to an Enid Police Department report, Michael S. Gehring, 33, was eastbound in the outside lane on Garriott in a 2002 Ford Explorer when he struck Gafford’s 2003 Buick Century as it was turning south onto Grand from the turn lane on Garriott. Gafford’s Buick was pushed into a third vehicle, which was facing north on Grand. Prisciliana Martinez-Gutierrez, 31, and her three children in the 2001 Chevy Tahoe were not injured.

Gafford’s Buick came to rest facing north on the southwest corner of the intersection, according to the report. Gehring suffered non-incapacitating head and internal and external body injuries, and also was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s for treatment.

Officers Andy Morris and Billy Varney are investigating the collision.
