ENID, Okla. —
Mike Honigsberg, certified director of Enid/Garfield County Emergency Management, will have a public awareness program Thursday.
The event will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 127 of Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid, 2929 E. Randolph.
Honigsberg will explain the warning process and discuss the various ways he has to send out notifications to the public.
“We get inundated with phone calls during storms from people reporting weather phenomena,” he said. “A better understanding of what people are observing would be very beneficial for not only them, but for us. If our citizens understand what is going to happen, when it may occur and how we initiate our warning process, the better off everyone will be.”
Honigsberg said his office also welcomes suggestions and ideas on how to make the process better.
Another public meeting is planned for February.
