EPD responded at about 8:26 p.m. Tuesday to a 911 call reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the 1300 block of South Van Buren. The vehicle and driver involved in the collision left the scene before police arrived.

EPD, Enid Fire Department and Life EMS arrived on the scene to find Ward lying in the northbound lane of South Van Buren.

According to a press release issued by EPD Capt. Jack Morris, emergency responders administered CPR to Ward at the scene, and she was transported to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 9:07 p.m.

During the investigation, officers received information Oller was driving the 2003 Silver Chevrolet 1500 that struck Ward, according to the EPD press release.

After observing Oller’s vehicle, “officers noticed extensive damage to the front of the vehicle,” the press release states.

Oller later was arrested on complaints of first-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of a fatality accident and driving under suspension.

Oller’s bond had not been set Wednesday evening, and he remained in custody at Garfield County Detention Facility.

Oller’s condition at the time of the hit-and-run is listed as “unknown,” according to an Enid Police Department collision report. Unsafe/unlawful contributing factors list “alcohol-DUI/DWI” under the portion for Oller’s vehicle.

A blood sample was taken from Oller and sent for testing. The incident remains under investigation.
