Reba coming to Enid: Country music superstar booked at Event Center

ENID, Okla. — Reba McEntire will perform at Enid Event Center in June.

The concert coincides with the first anniversary of the center’s grand opening. General Manager Keller Taylor said it’s no coincidence.

“With the one-year anniversary, we wanted to do something special that people would remember,” Taylor said. “So we evaluated what artists that were out there that would work for our market, and we felt that an Oklahoman who exemplifies country was the best way to go.”

The concert is June 21.

McEntire has a long career in country music, with multiple Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and an American Country Music Career Achievement Honor. She also is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

She’s sold more than 56 million albums, but McEntire’s not just a country music artist.

The Oklahoma native also is an actress best known for her eponymous sitcom “Reba,” which ran for six seasons. She has 11 movie credits, and in 2001, she made her Broadway debut in “Annie Get Your Gun.”

McEntire earned her 64th top 10 hit and her 35th No. 1 with “Turn On The Radio,” a single from her most recent album, “All the Women I Am.”

Getting such a big star to Enid can be attributed to the resources available to Global Spectrum, the private company tapped to manage Enid Event Center and Convention Hall.

“We leveraged several of our relationships with William Morris, who represents her, to get the show. We’re proud of our relationship with them and many other agents,” Taylor said. “We know that Reba is a great one-year anniversary show, and I think it’s going to do extremely well.”

The floor setup will be similar to the recent Darius Rucker concert. About 3,800 tickets were sold for that event, which was the first sellout crowd at the new Event Center. There are two levels of ticket prices for the Reba McEntire concert: $95 and $129. Taylor acknowledged the price for her show here is higher than tickets for some of her other concerts throughout the country.

“With quality entertainment, you’re going to pay a little bit of a premium, and I think a night with Reba is pretty reasonable for $95,” he said. “She has to approve it, so it was something that her management felt OK with when we proposed it.”

Tickets are priced at $95 and $129. Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, March 28.  Fans can order tickets by calling 855.TIX.ENID, visiting or in the Enid Event Center and Convention Hall (Box Office).
