ENID, Okla. —
Deputies are following up in the search for a subject involved in a high-speed pursuit that began north of Drummond early Monday.
Garfield County Sheriff Jerry Niles said the pursuit began around 2:45 a.m. Monday when a deputy turned around to make contact with a speeding driver who was traveling in excess of 80 miles per hour at Wood Road and Imo Road, west of Waukomis.
“The subject failed to stop and reached speeds of 105 miles an hour on 132 North,” Niles said.
The subject crashed his vehicle at a bridge under construction, located at Southgate Road and State Highway 132, and fled on foot.
Niles said the subject is still on foot and the sheriff’s department has a possible identification. He said the search near the scene of where the suspect fled was shut down at sunrise, but deputies are following up on the possible identification of the subject.
