Memorial Day Service set in Lamont

A Memorial Day ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Monday in Lamont Cemetery, followed by lunch at Lamont Christian Church. Everyone is welcome.

Service at Fairmont cemetery Monday

A Memorial Day service will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, located on Rupe in Fairmont.

The names of the veterans who are interred there will be read during the 20 to 30 minute service. The Rev. Tim Dorsch, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Those attending are invited to bring a chair if they would like to be seated.  

Haynes Sisters to minister Sunday

The Haynes Sisters will minister in song at 8:15 and 10:50 a.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 401 W. Maine.

The Haynes Sisters — Tiffany, Tonya and Tara — have been performing for about 30 years, specializing in Gospel and the Big Band sounds, bringing back the “Boogie Woogie” sounds of the 1940s and ’50s. They also have ministered in churches around the United States.
