ENID, Okla. — Garfield County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol with a manhunt in the Lamont and Deer Creek area off Oklahoma 11.

Sheriff Jerry Niles said his office sent three K-9 units and his undersheriff following a 2:45 p.m. request from Grant County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in a manhunt.

Sgt. Jody Helms, Sgt. Logan Niles, Deputy Darryl Beebe and Undersheriff Jon Marshall were deployed to assist in the search for two men north of Lamont near the Deer Creek area. Garfield County deployed three K-9 units and a UTV to aid in the search.

Niles said an OHP troop attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic infractions when the men fled. Following a pursuit, the two men fled from the vehicle.

Niles said the registered owner of the vehicle has arrest warrants out of Kay County, but the two subjects who fled from the vehicle have not been positively identified.

Anyone in the area who sees either of the men, or anything suspicious, should dial *55 of their cellphones to notify Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
