Fairview man injured in motorcycle accident

ENID, Okla. — A Fairview man was injured Saturday when he failed to negotiate a turn and overturned his motorcycle in Blaine County.

Chad Allen Carey, 47, was transported via Medi-flight and admitted in critical condition to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Carey had head, and internal and external trunk injuries.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at 3:25 p.m. on Oklahoma 51-A, two miles north of Oklahoma 8-A, in Blaine County, according to the report.

Carey was driving a 1999 Harley Davidson Custom Roadster northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and departed the roadway to the right, overturning and coming to rest in the north ditch.

The cause of the collision, according to the report, was unsafe speed on a curve/turn. Carey reportedly was not wearing a helmet.
