Heer’s Country event is slated Saturday in Longdale

LONGDALE, Okla. — The Heer’s Country event will be held 6-11 p.m. Saturday at the Longdale Community Center Gym in Longdale.

It will feature Bobby Bennett and the Borrowed Bandits Band. Bobby, whose own bands include 24/7, Cimarron and Southern Cross, has performed at conferences in Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas, and played behind such headliners as Roy Clark, Charlie Walker, Jim Ed Brown and Hank Thompson.

The Borrowed Bandits Band will feature popular pianist, Steven Harwood, who has played with Harvey and the Wallbangers and now plays with Crooked Canyon Band and E-Town Rhythm Kings; Matt Keith, fiddler/vocalist and Will McLin, guitarist/vocalist who played with the Sounds of the Southwest, which was named by the Oklahoma Legislature at one time as Oklahoma’s official swing band; Ron Golliver, steel guitar and “Dub” Schieffer, drums/vocalist, both having played behind such stars as Tennessee Ernie Ford, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, David Frizzell, Roy Clark, Hank Thompson and others.

David Roberts, bass/vocalist, is a member of the E-Town Rhythm Kings and has been with Crooked Canyon for 21 years.

Also, popular classic country vocalist/ guitarist Buck Goucher will perform, as well as Jarod Cross.
