ENID, Okla. —
Beginning Wednesday, Enid Public Transportation Authority will shut down operations between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
This time period will be used by EPTA staff for training and administrative meetings. EPTA General Manager James Neal said these brief interruptions to service are necessary to improve EPTA operations.
“We are working at EPTA to provide more effective and efficient transit service to the citizens of Enid,” Neal said. “In order to accomplish this service enhancement, the EPTA staff need a dedicated block of time in which we can train and conduct administrative meetings.”
Neal said the affected time blocks were selected because they coincide with one of the lowest periods of demand for transit services during the work week.
“We ask that people who utilize transit service schedule their trips and appointments around the EPTA staff meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of the month,” Neal said. “We appreciate your cooperation, and we look forward to serving you in the future.”
