Enid in tornado watch; main threat is south of area

ENID, Okla. — Garfield County remains in a tornado watch until 11 p.m., but National Weather Service predicts the greatest threat of tornadoes is in southwest, south central and central parts of Oklahoma.

Enid and Garfield County Emergency Management sent out an update recently that said the main weather threats for the Enid area will be high wind and hail.

Much of northwest Oklahoma remains north of a warm front that cuts across the state.

NWS calls for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Enid today, with some storms possibly severe. The chance of thunderstorms increases to 70 percent this evening, mainly after 70 p.m. Again, some could be severe.
