ENID, Okla. —
A 49-year-old Enid man being held in lieu of $500,000 bond was arraigned Thursday on charges of child sexual abuse.
Ronald Allen Fletcher faces a year in county jail up to life in prison and/or a fine of $500 to $5,000 on both felony charges, that accuse him of abusing two girls ages 4 and 6.
Fletcher appeared via video before Special District Judge Brian Lovell from Garfield County Detention Facility.
Lovell denied Fletcher’s request for court-appointed counsel because he did not meet requirements.
Police spoke with a woman Aug. 28, who re-ported her 4- and 6-year-old daughters were molested by Fletcher, who she described as an ex-brother-in-law, according to an affidavit filed in the case. She told an officer she found out that night her daughters had been molested by Fletcher about a month and a half before.
She said her daughters said they had taken a bath with Fletcher and he touched them inappropriately, according to the affidavit.
Forensic interviews were conducted with the 4-year-old Sept. 21 and the 6-year-old Oct. 9.
The oldest girl indicated on an anatomical drawing Fletcher had touched her on inappropriate areas of her body, and said Fletcher made her touch him, according to the affidavit. The 6-year-old also said Fletcher had touched her 4-year-old sister.
Detective John Robinson searched police records and found three prior reports made against Fletcher for touching children, dating back to 2004, according to the affidavit. The most recent complaint was filed in 2010.
Robinson contacted Fletcher Oct. 26 and asked him to come speak to him at the Enid Police Department. Fletcher arrived and agreed to an interview, which was audio and video recorded.
Fletcher said he knew the two girls, as well as their mother and aunt, according to the affidavit. He confessed to molesting the 4- and 6-year-olds.
Fletcher detailed the abuse of the two girls, which he said dated back six to eight months, and said he did take a bath with the girls on one occasion, according to the affidavit. Fletcher admitted to an incident that occurred in Oklahoma City and also admitted to molesting a third child, referenced in previous reports, that was 8-months-old at the time.
Fletcher told Robinson he knew what he did was wrong. He wrote the three girls apology letters.
In one letter, Fletcher wrote, “I am sorry I touched you. I took from you. I hope you forgive me, I loved you from the time you came to Enid. I want to be your father raise you in a good home take you church. I hope you grow up to find someone special again I am sorry very sincere in forgiveness. Ron Fletcher,” according to the affidavit.
Robinson told Fletcher he was going to be placed under arrest and Fletcher asked to call his wife. Robinson said he could call her but would have to remain in the room, according to the affidavit. During the call, Fletcher admits to molesting the 4- and 6-year-old girls to his wife.
Fletcher was ordered to return to court Dec. 3 for a bond appearance.
