4 arrested by Enid police for alleged kidnapping and assault

ENID, Okla. — Enid Police Department officers arrested four people early Wednesday morning on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping, after they allegedly held a woman hostage at knife point.

Capt. Jack Morris said the department received a 911 call at 5:09 a.m. reporting a possible hostage situation at a home in the 600 block of North Davis.

A 38-year-old woman called the person who reported the crime, asking for $250 she needed following a drug deal, Morris said.

“They engaged in a narcotics purchase and were unhappy because they got false dope,” Morris said. He said the knives were 12 and 13 inches long.

The caller told police three men were holding the woman at knife point. Officers made contact with the caller and were able to listen to a phone call between the men and the caller, and could hear a woman in the background who sounded distressed, Morris said.

Officers were able to make contact with the woman and the men, and took the three men and another woman into custody on the complaints of assault and kidnapping.

April Renea Ash, 36; Jose Antonia Valentina Crespo, 27; Robert I. Figueroa, 37; and Pablo Marti Ramirez De Arellano, 28, were arrested on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping.

Ash and Figueroa also were arrested on complaints of endeavoring to possess a controlled dangerous substance. Figueroa also had arrest warrants from previous charges of feloniously pointing a firearm and DUI.
