Horizontal drilling will be the topic for discussion March 28 during a meeting in Alva.
The meeting will be 6 p.m. Thursday in the Seminar Room of Northwest Technology Center’s Alva campus.
Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Dana Murphy said the issues raised by the expansion of horizontal drilling by oil and natural gas producers in northwest Oklahoma are of concern to surface owners, mineral owners and producers.
“These meetings continue to provide a chance for everyone to not only obtain the latest information, but also to ask questions and be heard,” Murphy said. He said a large turnout is expected.
Topics to be addressed include an update on Oklahoma oil and gas activity, development in the Mississippian formation and the ongoing use and impact of horizontal drilling in Oklahoma.
Participating in the meeting are Oklahoma Corporation Commission, National Association of Royalty Owners, Oklahoma Energy Resources Board and SandRidge Energy.
