MAPC to consider action on new CVS Pharmacy

ENID, Okla. — The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission will consider actions during its regular meeting Monday on plans for a CVS Pharmacy on the northeast corner of Garriott and Van Buren.

MAPC will consider the preliminary and final plats for the business, as well as a site development plan, during the 6 p.m. meeting in city commission chambers, 401 W. Garriott.

A possible quorum of the Tax Increment Finance Committee may be present at the 5:30 p.m. MAPC study session.

Members of the commission also will consider and take action of a resolution recommending the creation of a TIF district as part of the Oakwood Mall redevelopment plan.

A TIF district establishes an area in which increased ad valorem taxes will be delayed for a specific period of time. The funds would be used to defray construction costs. Tax-receiving agencies will continue to receive taxes at the current ad valorem rate. At the end of the TIF district time, higher ad valorem taxes would be collected.

The project, which is expected to cost about $35 million, would turn the mall into an outdoor regional shopping center.

Five other site development plans will be considered during Monday’s meeting including:

• A plan for KC Electric at 4418 S. Van Buren.

• A plan for an addition to Enid Mack Sales at 5913 E. Owen Garriott.

• A plan for Chesapeake Energy for a new building at 3411 N. 66th.

• A plan for Summit ESP for a new building at 103 S. 42nd.

• A plan for Shady Lane RV Park at 4112 Shady Lane.

The commission also will consider a request for school zone signs at Garfield Elementary School, 400 N. 7th, and Prairie View Elementary School, 4700 W. Willow, as well as the placement of a stop sign at Oak and Kenwood.

Commissioners also will:

• Consider approval of a lot split located in the 2700 block of East Ash.

• Consider amending Land Use Plan 2025 from low-intensity residential to medium-intensity commercial for the southeast quarter of Section 2, Township 22 North, Range 7 West, Indian Meridian.

• Consider amending Land Use Plan 2025 from low-intensity residential to medium-intensity residential of property located at the northwest corner of Chestnut and Cleveland.

• Consider rezoning property from R-2 single family residential to C-2 planned business center at the northwest corner of Chestnut and Cleveland.

• Consider a planned unit development and master plan for property at the northwest corner of Chestnut and Cleveland.
