Commission awards bid on building work

ENID, Okla. — The Board of Garfield County Commissioners awarded a bid for some renovations at the Garfield County Safety Building on Monday.

A base bid of $214,511 was awarded to Luckinbill Mechanical Contractors for light remodeling work at the facility, located at 216 W. Oxford in Enid.

The commissioners opted to award three alternate addition bids to Luckinbill Mechanical Contractors.

Exterior lights and poles will be replaced for $27,235, exterior wall sconces will be replaced for $13,664 and emergency power service will be installed for $50,230.

District 3 Commissioner James Simunek said the funds will come from the county’s contingency fund.

Five bids were received on the project during a meeting on April 21. Luckinbill Mechanical Contractors was the lowest base bidder.

Depending on cost, the building — which was given to the county — may house some of the sheriff’s office and possibly a highway superintendent, according to Simunek.
