ENID, Okla. —
Two men were killed Sunday morning when their pickup collided with a semitrailer at Oklahoma 132 and Cotton Road in Grant County.
Coby Wayne Schneider, 28, of Nash, and Casey D. Schneider, 25, of Enid, were pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries.
Another man, William E. Wright, 67, of Manchester, was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and later transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was admitted in serious condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Ford pickup driven by Coby Wayne Schneider, with passenger Casey D. Schneider, was northbound, and the Freightliner semi was southbound. According to the report, for an unknown reason, the pickup lost control and went left of center, striking the semitrailer head-on. Both Coby and Casey Schneider were ejected an unknown distance.
According to the report, neither Coby Schneider nor Casey Schneider was using a seat belt, and Wright wasn’t using a seat belt, either. OHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
Oklahoma 132 was closed 10:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
