Kansas man is killed when cycle hits deer

— An Arkansas City, Kan., man died of injuries suffered when his motorcycle hit a deer Wednesday morning in Alfalfa County.

Brandon E. Roebuck, 38, suffered head, arm, leg and trunk injuries, and died at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kan., according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

He had been taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center before being flown to the Wichita hospital.

The accident happened at 1:45 a.m. on Oklahoma 11, northeast of Jet.

According to the report, Roebuck was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson east on Oklahoma 11 when a deer ran in front of him. He lost control, slid into a ditch and was ejected 18 feet. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.
