Woman injured in semi-vehicle crash

A Watonga woman was injured Wednesday when her car crossed the centerline of U.S. 281 in Blaine County and hit a semi.

Brandi Lucille Spiva, 27, received head and arm injuries in the 5:03 a.m. accident three miles south of Watonga, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

She was taken by ambulance to Watonga Municipal Hospital then transferred to Integris Southwest in Oklahoma City. She was listed in stable condition.

According to the OHP report, Spiva was driving a 2011 Jeep Wrangler north on U.S. 281 when she went across the centerline and hit a Kenworth semi driven by Michael Anthony Sanchez, 45, of Garden City, Kan. Both vehicles came to rest in the east ditch.

Spiva told troopers she fell asleep, the report stated. Sanchez was not injured.
