Enid News & Eagle

— A Woodward man was injured Monday after he failed to yield to another driver in Dewey County.

According to an OHP report, John Ramos, 32, of Woodward, was stopped at a stop sign southbound on Oklahoma 183. Meanwhile, Taten Walker, 17, of Mutual, was driving a 2008 Chevy Pickup eastbound on U.S. 60 and approaching the intersection.

Ramos, also driving a 2008 Chevy pickup, failed to yield to Walker’s pickup and struck its driver’s side, according to the report. Walker’s pickup then departed the roadway to the right, struck a culvert and came to a stop.

Ramos was transported to OU Medical Center by air evac with head and external truck injuries. He was listed in stable condition.

According to the report, both vehicles were equipped with airbags, and they deployed in Walker’s pickup, but not Ramos’.
