ENID, Okla. —
Two 17-year-old boys were arrested Sunday evening at a residence in the 7400 block of West Carrier Road, where one individual was arrested last week during a burglary attempt.
Garfield County Sheriff Jerry Niles said the teens were detained by the property owner at gunpoint at about 6 p.m. Sunday. The owner drove up on the pair, who were driving a pickup with a trailer and were in the process of carrying items from his barn. The property owner fired two shots into the vehicle and held the males until deputies arrived, Niles said.
In addition, one man was detained and two others are being sought from an interrupted burglary attempt Wednesday at the same address. Niles said the teens arrested Sunday do not appear to be the same ones involved in the Wednesday incident.
Steve Eric Boster, 35, was arrested on a complaint of first-degree burglary following the Wednesday incident, Niles said.
Niles said the property had been burglarized several times in the past few weeks, the most recent five days prior to Boster’s arrest. The owner of the property and another man had stayed at the property to catch intruders in the act.
The juveniles arrested Sunday were taken to Community Intervention Center pending charges. Sheriff’s investigators will begin interviewing additional people this morning, Niles said.
