NOC observatory, planetarium closed this week for July 4

ENID, Okla. — Phases of the moon for July are:

• July 8: New moon.

• July 16: First quarter.

• July 22: Full moon (Hay Moon, Thunder Moon).

• July 29: Last quarter.


Northern Oklahoma College Observatory and Mackie Planetarium will be closed the first week of July for the Independence Day holiday.


Every Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting, the observatory will be open to the public. Sessions start at 9:30 p.m.

Large groups planning to visit the observatory or planetarium should call 548-2399 to schedule an appointment.
