ENID, Okla. —
A woman who last had contact with her family March 16 said she was traveling to Enid, but police here could not confirm whether she ever made it to the city.
Twila Watson, 41, was reported missing to Enid Police Department by her sister-in-law March 20.
Watson’s sister-in-law said Watson was on a trip to visit a man in Enid she met on the social-networking site Mocospace and was driving a gold 2002 Ford Taurus with Oklahoma tag 044 AXT, according to an EPD report.
Watson told her family the man lived right off U.S. 412 in Enid. She last spoke with her father from an unknown location, possibly in Enid, asking for directions. The family said they have been calling Watson’s cellphone, but it goes straight to voicemail, according to the report.
The family also told police Watson had been living at an unknown address in Noble prior to visiting Enid, but she is known to frequently move from house to house. Watson suffers from epilepsy and regular seizures, according to the EPD report.
Officer Shawn Aebi checked department records for the man Watson was supposed to meet in Enid. That check found the man owns a house at an address in the Brookside addition, a few blocks from U.S. 412.
Aebi went to the home and spoke with the man’s daughter-in-law, who said he had not lived there for some time and now lives in the country near Waukomis.
Aebi contacted the man, who said neither he nor his wife had ever seen or heard of Watson, according to the report. The man said he had not had any contact with any women over the Internet and does not know why his name was used.
Anyone with information about Watson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Enid Police Department at (580) 242-7000.
