Church targeted by vandals

ENID, Okla. — Vandals struck an Enid church overnight Thursday, leaving a cleaning service to discover spray paint across the back of the building.

Your Family Church pastor Rick Dominic said the vandals must have struck sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 9:20 a.m. or  9:30 a.m. Friday when the cleaners arrived.

“We had people at the church last night until at least 10 p.m.,” he said.

The orange spray-painted letters are about 5 feet tall and stretch across the back of the church, 1301 N. Independence. The letters spell out “Five Finger Death Punch,” most likely a reference to a heavy metal band of the same name.

Dominic said it will take some time to get all of the graffiti removed.

Anyone having information that will lead to the arrest or prosecution of the suspect in this or any other crime is urged to call Garfield County Crime Stoppers at (580) 233-6233 or go online to www.enid.org/police/crime_stopper_tips.as and submit a tip anonymously.

You can earn a reward up to $1,000. You will not be required to testify and will not be identified. You also can text your tip to 274637. Just type “Enid” and then your message in the text box.
