Election board open to early voters today, Monday

ENID, Okla. — In-person absentee voting has begun for three Enid city commission seats and school elections for the Cimarron and Kremlin-Hillsdale school districts.

Garfield County Election Board is open until 6 p.m. today, and will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday for in-person absentee voting at the election board office, 903 Failing Drive.

There is no Saturday in-person absentee voting for school and municipal elections.

Kremlin-Hillsdale ISD voters are casting ballots for seat three on their school board, to be decided between Robbie Gray and Kent Keithly.

Voters in the Cimarron Public Schools district are voting on a three-way race for seat three on their school board and also a $420,000 bond issue.

The proposed bond issue is for transportation equipment, and would be paid for with a levy on ad valorem taxes over a term of five years.

The Cimarron school board race will be decided between Stanley Johnson, Robert Kirchner and Joshua Pettus.

The Enid city commission races will decided between: Ben Ezzell and Eldon Stephens in Ward 3; Loyd Kaufman and Rodney Timm in Ward 4; David Vanhooser, Mickey De La Cruz and Joey Meibergen in Ward 6.

Garfield County Election Board Secretery Roy Schneider said turnout for in-person absentee voting today has been slow today, with only nine voters casting ballots by 11 a.m.

Oklahoma law requires all registered voters to show proof of identity to vote. A voter identification card qualifies as proof, as do an Oklahoma driver’s license, passport or military ID.

Regular voting will commence at Enid polling locations 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
