Air Force band set to perform

ENID, Okla. — The Air Force Academy ensemble Blue Steel will perform at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Emerson Middle School.

“We play top-40 rock,” said Colin Trusedell, tour manager for the ensemble. “We play everything from Aerosmith to Alicia Keyes.”

Blue Steel is the popular music ensemble of the Air Force Academy Band.

“These full-time, active-duty bandsmen are committed to enhancing community relations, supporting the recruiting mission of the United States Air Force Academy and instilling the Air Force core values of integrity, service and excellence in our nation’s youth,” according to the Blue Steel website. “Blue Steel’s mission also includes deployment, military support and troop morale. The group performs high-energy music from a variety of genres, and their versatility and dynamic stage presence enables them to tell the Air Force story to audience members of all ages. Whether on a flight line in the desert, high school gymnasium, large concert hall or a national sporting event, Blue Steel has the ability to create the ideal atmosphere for any performance venue or setting.”

Their appearance in Enid is part of a weeklong Oklahoma tour that includes performances at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva; Yukon Fine Arts Center; Stillwater Community Center; two concerts at Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City; and UCO Jazz Lab, Edmond.

Anyone who wants to come hear the concert can attend.

“Every concert is free and open to the public,” Trusedell said.
