Firearms, oilfield equipment thefts are under investigation

ENID, Okla. — Garfield County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of firearms during a residential burglary reported this week.

Deputies also are investigating the theft of oilfield equipment.

Undersheriff Jerry Niles said deputies took a report of a daytime residential burglary Wednesday in the 10500 block of South Sheridan.

Niles said a rifle and three shotguns were reported taken, as well as a chain saw and circular saw. The loss of the items was estimated at about $1,000.

Deputies are investigating the theft of a seismic box, used in oil and gas exploration, sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday from a field in the 19000 block of South 174th.

The box, valued at about $5,200, was reported stolen by Dawson Geophysical.
