ENID, Okla. —
City commissioners will vote today on two change orders for Enid Renaissance Project construction, one of which involves work around a restaurant near Enid Event Center.
City commissioners will discuss and vote on the change orders during a special session at noon today in commission chambers at the city administration building, 401 W. Garriott.
Cafe Garcia is located at the corner of Grand and Oklahoma, south of Enid Event Center, which is under construction as part of Enid Renaissance Project.
As part of one of the change orders, commissioners will vote to increase the 2012-13 capital improvement fund budget by $282,332 to pay for:
• Sewer relocation — costing $83,142 — due to the decision to keep Cafe Garcia where it is.
• Relocation of the Convention Hall sanitary sewer line, to remove a conflict with the parking lot and future hotel site ($51,023).
• Reconfiguration of the south parking lot and additional grading around Cafe Garcia ($148,167).
The money will be transferred from the Enid Municipal Authority Operations Department.
Bob Myers, of Key Construction, will be present at the meeting to discuss the change orders. Key Construction was awarded the contract to build Enid Event Center for $17,444,444. The building is schuduled to be completed by May 31, 2013.
The other change order to be considered today will deduct $23,994 from the contract with Key Construction, to credit the city of Enid for the cost of failed material testing or retesting.
These will be the sixth and seventh change orders for the project. The previous five have totaled $724,404, pushing the contract for Enid Event Center to $18,168,848.
