ENID, Okla. —
Enid City Commission decided Tuesday to keep the speed limit along Willow at 45 mph.
School officials requested a section of the roadway near Prairie View Elementary School be permanently lowered to 35 mph, which would again lower to 20 mph during school hours.
Without discussion, Ward 6 Commissioner David Vanhooser moved that the speed limit remain where it is. There was no debate and the motion was unanimously approved Tuesday.
Vanhooser previously said in a meeting of the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission the area is so undeveloped that there is no need to constantly keep the speed limit that low between Oakwood and Garland.
