ENID, Okla. —
A 23-year-old Enid man was arrested Saturday in Hobart in relation to the death of an Enid woman.
A warrant for murder was issued for Jason Dwayne Lowe, described as the victim’s boyfriend, and he was arrested Saturday in Hobart, in Kiowa County.
Enid police and fire department, as well as Life EMS, responded to a 12:06 p.m. call of an unresponsive female at 601 W. Maple, Sgt. Quent Tubbs said. Emergency responders arrived and found Crystal Star Johnson, 33, deceased under suspicious circumstances. Johnson was first found by her roommate.
Capt. Jack Morris said an autopsy would have to confirm the cause of death.
“At this time it seems like the possible cause of death was blunt-force trauma to the head,” Morris said.
Online court records show Lowe pleaded guilty last week in Garfield County District Court to misdemeanor counts of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery.
He received a one-year suspended sentence with supervision through the district attorney’s office. He was ordered to attend batterer’s treatment as part of his sentencing.
Lowe also pleaded no contest last year to charges of felony domestic abuse assault and battery and misdemeanor obstructing an officer in Kiowa County District Court.
He received a four-year deferred sentence on the felony and a deferred sentence on that misdemeanor, to run concurrent to the felony sentence.
