An 18-year-old El Reno man was pronounced dead Saturday morning after a two-vehicle collision in Blaine County.
Joseph Anthony Vorva Jr., 18, El Reno, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
In the same vehicle, another passenger, 17-year-old Frankie Cometsevah, suffered head, neck, arm, leg and internal and external trunk injuries and was listed in critical condition at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
According to the OHP report, a 2003 Mitsubishi driven by 23-year-old Jessica Webster of Canton was eastbound at 6:49 a.m. Saturday on Oklahoma 58 about 0.9 mile north of Oklahoma 51 in Blaine County.
Cometsevah, Vorva Jr. and 17-year-old Meilani Corder were in the vehicle with Webster, according to the report.
A second vehicle, a 2007 Toyota driven by 48-year-old Julie Kaye Hulsey of Perryton, Texas, was northbound on Oklahoma 58. In the vehicle with her was 10-year-old Kyler Corbin, also of Perryton.
According to the report, Webster failed to yield and was struck by Hulsey’s vehicle, resulting in the ejection of Vorva Jr. about 10 feet from the point of impact and Cometsevah an unknown distance from the point of impact.
Webster was transported to Okeene Hospital with head, neck and trunk injuries, and she was treated and released. Corder also was transported to Okeene Hospital with head, neck, internal and external trunk injuries and was treated and released.
Hulsey and Corbin were both transported to Okeene Hospital, Hulsey with leg and trunk external injuries and Corbin with minor injuries. Both were treated and released.
According to the report, seat belts were equipped in both vehicles. They were in use by Webster and Corder in vehicle one, and by both Hulsey and Corbin in vehicle two.
The condition of the driver and cause of collision both are under investigation.
