A Buffalo man was killed Friday night about three miles west of Woodward on Oklahoma 15, when his vehicle was struck by a trailer being pulled by another vehicle.
Chandler Craig Farmer, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at 8:25 p.m., according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Kenneth Roy Crowe, 19, of Woodward, was westbound on Oklahoma 15 in a 2010 Ford pickup, and Farmer was eastbound in a 2009 Mack, when a 16-foot trailer with an oilfield pump being towed by Crowe had a blowout, lost control and swerved across the centerline.
The trailer and load of Crowe’s vehicle struck Farmer’s semi, became dislodged from the Ford and Farmer’s semi and the trailer caught fire after impact. Farmer was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.
The report lists the cause of the collision as “unsafe vehicle, tires” and both drivers’ condition as “apparently normal.”ꆱ
