ENID, Okla. —
A Woodward woman who was a passenger in a vehicle involved in an accident Sunday sustained head and leg injuries.
Samantha Jo Swinford, 30, was transported by ambulance to Watonga Municipal Hospital and was listed in stable condition following the accident at 1:24 p.m. in Blaine County, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
According to the report, a 2013 BMW X5 SUV driven by Heather Marie Karbs, 25, of Fay, was eastbound on a county road while a 1993 Chevrolet pickup driven by Dale Wayne Blagburn, 37, of Oklahoma City, was northbound on another road. Swinford was a passenger in Blagburn’s vehicle.
Karbs’ vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by Blagburn’s vehicle, according to the report. The report listed “failed to yield to vehicle on right” as the cause of the collision.
Karbs was transported by private vehicle to Weatherford Regional Hospital with leg and internal trunk injuries and was treated and released. Blagburn sustained a head injury and was transported by ambulance to Watonga Municipal Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
According to the report, seat belts were equipped and in use in Karbs’ vehicle, while they were equipped but not in use by either occupant in Blagburn’s vehicle.
