ENID, Okla. —
An Enid man was involved in a fatal accident Wednesday morning in Coal County that killed an Oklahoma City woman.
The accident happened at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday on Oklahoma 3 about two miles west of the junction with U.S. 75, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Rebecca Ford, 52, was pronounced dead at Coalgate Hospital from injuries suffered in the accident.
According to the OHP report, Perell Monday, 56, of Enid, was driving 2001 Freightliner semi east on Oklahoma 3 when he crossed the center lane and hit a horse trailer being pulled by Logan Reed, 64, of Coalgate, who was driving a 2005 Ford pickup. Monday’s semi then hit a 2005 Nissan driven by Ford, who had moved onto the shoulder while attempting to avoid Monday’s vehicle, according to the report.
Monday and Reed were not injured, according to the report. Ford was pinned in her vehicle for 45 minutes.
According to the report, Monday’s condition was listed as sleepy, and the cause of the accident was “inattention-other.”
