Flood warning issued for the Cimarron River near Buffalo

ENID, Okla. — National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Cimarron River near Buffalo.

The warning will run through Friday evening.

According to NWS, flood stage for the Cimarron River in that area is 6 feet, and the water level should rise to 6.7 feet early Friday morning. The river should fall below flood stage by Friday afternoon.

Fields, pastures and other low-lying areas could be affected near the river, according to NWS. The affected area stretches from the Oklahoma-Kansas border to near Freedom.
