Park Avenue Thrift will have its second annual open house 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
St. Nicholas will arrive on a horse at 11 a.m., and award prizes to the winners of the elementary school Christmas quilt block coloring contest. Fourteen teachers will receive $900 in prize awards.
Special music and events will be 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including bagpipes, Irish harp, a family band, Irish prose and poetry reading, and special vocalists. The first 100 customers will receive a festive holiday table covering. There also will be special bargains and drawings for gift certificates throughout the day.
Located at 507 S. Grand, Park Avenue Thrift is an outreach of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. It was started to produce revenue for Enid area nonprofit organizations. Donations of new or gently used items are tax deductible.
