Enid woman’s tree dotted with ornaments from around the world

“The thing about a Christmas tree is it’s full of memories. Part of putting up a tree is the memories.”

Virginia McCall has put up her Christmas tree, and it really is full of memories. McCall’s 10-foot tree has ornaments from across the nation and around the world.

“I have some from Belgium, Germany, Brazil, France and more,” she said.

McCall began putting up her tree around Thanksgiving.

“I usually get it up right around Thanksgiving, and it stays up until the new year. To get all the ornaments on it takes about two days,” McCall said. “I broke down and bought a prelit tree so it only takes three hours to put up.”

McCall has collected some ornaments during her travels, while other people have brought her some of them.

“Some of the family brought some of them back,” McCall said. “I have a niece in England and I had a niece in France and she brought back the Eiffel Tower. My niece lives in New York and she brought one back.”

McCall said she also has several ornaments from Yel-lowstone National Park.

“My parents worked in Yellowstone, so we have lots of Yellowstone ornaments,” she said.

The tree doesn’t hold all the ornaments McCall has collected throughout the years.

“This isn’t even all the ornaments,” McCall said. “An ornament has to be really unique and different now. You get a lot when you are young then you end up with too many.”

McCall’s tree also features a section with ornaments made by her son and Barbies from each year. Pixies are the new addition this year to the tree.

“We really enjoy our Christmas tree,” McCall said.
