A 72-year-old Enid woman was injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle accident on North Grand that closed a block of the road as emergency officials worked to clear the scene.
At 10:30 a.m., at Grand and Cherry, a 1992 Chevrolet pickup driven by Geraldine Boyce, 71, of Enid, and a 1997 International box truck driven by Christopher Eastin, 26, of Goltry, were northbound on Grand, according to an Enid Police Department report. Boyce attempted to turn west onto Cherry from the outside lane. Eastin pulled over to avoid Boyce, but she pulled in front of his truck and they collided, according to the report.
Boyce said she was struck on the driver’s side of her truck, causing her seat belt to unfasten and door to open, ejecting her from the vehicle.
Eastin said he thought Boyce was going to make a U-turn when she pulled in front of him, according to the report.
Shirley Kilgore, Boyce’s passenger, was taken by Life EMS to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center complaining of an arm injury. She told police she did not know what happened to cause the accident.
Boyce was cited for not wearing a seat belt, failure to provide current insurance and making an improper turn.
