Foster

Lt. Mica Foster recently reported to Navy flight school in Pensacola, Fla. She is the daughter of Roger Foster of Taloga and Ronni Poe of Dallas, Texas, and the granddaughter of Elmer and Rita Maddux of Mooreland, and Edythe Foster of Ringwood.

Prior to her appointment to flight school, Foster served as a nuclear engineer on the U.S.S. Harry S. Truman, an aircraft carrier. While there her duties included a six-month tour in the Persian Gulf and providing aid to the hurricane victims along the Louisiana and Mississippi Coast.

She will begin her flight training with a six week ground school then go on to six months of initial flight training in T-34's, a turbine-powered, single-engine airplane. Following successful completion of this training, pilots will be assigned to a particular aircraft type for an additional one to two years of training before rejoining the fleet.





Scott



Air Force Airman Joshua C. Scott has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of J.C. and stepson of Carla Scott, of Fay. Scott is a 2005 graduate of Watonga High School.





Crow



Marine Staff Sgt. Brandon E. Crow, a 1996 graduate of Cimarron High School, has received three awards from the Marine Corps for his duty as recruitment officer at Midwest City Marine Reruiting Station.

Crow was named Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge in September, NCOIC of the Quarter for fiscal year 2005 and NCOIC of the Year for fiscal year 200.

In addition, the station received three awards. It was named Small Station of the Month for September, Small Station of the Quarter and Small Station of the Year.





Schmidt



Army Sgt. 1st Class Clayton R. Schmidt has arrived for duty in Lansing, Mich.

He is an operations superintendent assigned to Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion.

He is the son of Frances D. Fox, of Enid.

Schmidt graduated in 1974 from Cordell High School, and received a bachelor's degree in 2001 from Summitt University, New Orleans, La.
