Hillsdale Booster Club held its regular meeting Monday in the Hillsdale Community Building.

Church

Hillsdale Bible Church Ladies Missionary Society met Nov. 10. LaDeana Nelson presented the lesson on Thanksgiving and gave ideas of new family traditions. Hostesses for lunch were Virginia Messenger, Gloria Franklin and Barbara Crain. Committees worked on stamps, rolling bandages and sewing.

School

Ricki Schroeder, a fifth-grader at Hillsdale Christian School won 3rd place at the Association of Christians Schools International Spelling Bee. The bee was held Nov. 4 at Community Christian School in Norman.

------

Patty Means' HCS kindergarten class took its monthly mission trip to Cherokee Oct. 26. They visited the Cherokee Manor where they sang to the residents and presented each one with a paper pumpkin with a prayer written on it.

The students were studying the letter "G," so they visited the grocery story. They walked the aisles looking for the letter "G" on products.

They were given a tour of the freezer, meat department and given a gumball by Scott Smith, manager of United Supermarket. The Nash Christian Church Christian Women's Fellowship group served the students lunch, followed by a visit to the Nash Post Office where they met postmaster Lark Schultz and toured the post office, bought a stamp and mailed a letter to themselves.

------

Cindy Johndrow's HCS fifth-grade students presented a chapel program Oct. 26. Salutes to the flags and Bible were led by audience members Taylor Olsen, Emilee Marlatt and Cole Carpenter. Hayden Bonine opened in prayer. The subject of the program was joy and the students performed as the Joy Dancers dressed in pillowcases with faces.

Students in the audience received tickets for good behavior throughout the day before the chapel program. Those with tickets received a color-coded bell and a bell concert was held with two songs about Joy.

The students then performed a skit showing a bad attitude brings no joy but happiness depends on a person's attitude. Portrayers were Blake Burchel, MacKenzie Hoffsommer, Kyla Nesmith, Branden Meier, Logan Hayes, Alyssa Shearer, McKayla Kuykendall, Ricki Schroeder and Brannon Willis. At the end of the program, each student quoted a different passage of scripture.

------

On Oct. 31, three students in Jenifer Lloyd's HCS first-grade class visited and presented cards to Virginia Lloyd as one of their mission projects. Students attending were Cole Carpenter, Sean Balenti and Aaron Benda.

------

Hillsdale Christian School held its annual corporation meeting Nov. 8. The regular Parent/Teacher Fellowship meeting was conducted by Bob Volpe at the close of the corporation meeting. Refreshments were served by the HCS board members.

------

Hillsdale Christian School will host a Thanksgiving dinner today. Turkey and all the trimmings will be served 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $2 per person.

------

Hillsdale Christian School will sponsor the Christmas Train in Oakwood Mall beginning Nov. 25. All school patrons who will be attending the train must be present at one of two training sessions. These sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
